Stop Whining Chicky!

Stop Whining Chicky, Start Looking for a JOB! I have so many reasons why I should leave my current company. Here is the summary;
* I am underpaid: Even though this is my first accounting job after I graduated from school, most entry level accountants make more money in Orange County. I make $40K, most people make $50-55...
* I must work under CPA. Even if I pass CPA exam at this point I can not obtain my license unless I work under CPA for a year and none of managers are CPA.
* There is no room to grow. This company is small! Around 200 people, only 5 people in accounting department..And my aim is not to replace CFO, get it?
*The company does not reimburse education expenses. Most companies pay for exam fees etc. You know how difficult I made those exam fees... :(
*Easy! I don't find my job challenging, therefore it is boring..

For now those are the main reasons came to my mind why I should leave this company and find a new place to grow and learn...

    I'm waiting for my 401k to become fully vested, and then I'll think about my options. Right now I'm in the middle of a road situation and I'm waiting for my wife to get a regular teaching job before I dare make a move. Like I have always said in the past, I would work for myself again but the boss made me work long hours.

    Hi Chicky, I just found your blog and I love the way it looks, congrats. I recently started my own and I'm jealous! Check it out if you have time and I'm going to add you to my friend's list if that is okay.

    By the way, I am underpaid as well and not in my preferred career path. I've been job searching and every day I just try to be thankful for the health benefits and the free Internet access at work. Sigh...good luck!

    It sounds like you need to look for a new job. I think you should start looking. Don't waste years in a potentially dead end job, it's not worth it.

    I was in your same boat a few months ago and I found an incredible job that pays REALLY well. I also have an accounting degree but have no interest in a masters or CPA.
    It is possible to find an accounting job that pays more than $40k but you might need to go into a different area of accounting. Are you in public accounting? I work in Resort Management accounting and it's alot funner! Good luck!
