The Cash and Accrual accounting methods are the two principal methods of keeping track of a business's income and expenses. I don’t have a business but I do have my budget every month which needs to be accurate as much as possible. In a nutshell, these methods differ only in the timing of when transactions, including sales and purchases, are credited or debited to your accounts. Since I’ve started snowflaking, I’ve been trying to decide which method to choose for my earnings. The cash method: Under the cash method, income is not counted until cash (or a check) is actually received, and expenses are not counted until they are actually paid. That means I can only record my PayPerPost income when the money is in my checking account. On the other hand, the accrual method, income is counted when the sale occurs, and expenses are counted when you receive the goods or services. You don't have to wait until you see the money, or actually pay money out of your checking account, to record a transaction. Under this method I can record my income through Payperpost as soon as I complete an opp. Yesterday when I mentioned I made $26 through Payperpost, I basically used accrual method because I counted for the money when I performed the service. Now I am changing method. From now on I will use only cash method while forming my budget. I hope I make sense and didn’t confuse you more.

This afternoon I wrote
Desperately Need Running Shoes post and in that post I said " Today I will try to make $39.00 through PayPerPost to purchase well needed running shoes "
Result? Ok I could not make $39 but I got really close! And for sure I scamed you guys all day long with my ppp posts..I apologize for that but it was an experiment so I had to try my hardest. Even though I didn't make $39, I still made today total: $26 yay! I can not complain.. I wrote total three reviews $5, $10, $11. I think it is pretty good if you consider I wrote these 50, 100 word buzz articles in between my work at office! I love PayPerPost

You’ve heard about the man who gives away his social security number on TV and radio commercials right? Until a week ago I didn’t know he was the CEO of Lifelock identity protection company and he was all over the news because someone stole his identity and used for payday loan. Many people reacted as if Lifelock
is an unsuccessful company. I don’t necessarily agree with that. There are crooks everywhere and even if we try to protect someone if intelligent enough can find a way to steal and use any of our identity. I think one should look at if lifelock fulfill their contract in case there is damage in any of their customer’s credit. According to news Experian is fighting with
lifelock alleging that “credit laws do not provide for a third party to place fraud alerts on behalf of a customer.” It is kind of confusing; I would assume that two bodies would work together to protect our identity instead of suing each other. I watched the CEO of Lifelock’s interview on CNN video and found definitely worth watching it.
Here is the link, you decide!

Yesterday after work I headed to our local library first time ever. I followed many pf bloggers' advice and decided to look for the book called “ Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, by Carol S. Dweck.”
Spilling Buckets recommended on her blog. First of all, I went to our local library with all good intentions but when I entered to the place.... this weird smell, not a book smell….I passed on that I thought maybe someone farted as I entered the library. Sadly, I couldn’t find the book I was looking for not only that all the books looked very old to me. There were not many places to sit. In fact there were more computer stations than study tables which I could not understand. Anyways, I am really disappointed.. I guess I will back to Borders to sip my coffee and read latest magazines and books..ohh By the way, my hubby calls me Borders Bug!

At the end of today I will let you know how much exactly I made on PPP. Wish luck to me!

Beginning of this year I promised myself I am not going to purchase any make up products until I already have is gone. So far so, I have not bought single product and I have plenty. However when it comes to skin products, I'd like to make sure I dont have spoiled product. For example I would not want to use eye cream a year old. That's why reading reviews, checking out diffrent websites about skin products is important for me. iDerma offers scientifically advanced skin care products ranging from
Anti-aging Cream, moisturizing creams, cleansers and sunscreens, to mineral makeup and more. Selected brands are recommended by leading dermatologists and beauty experts, such as iS Clinical, SkinMedica, Remergent, NeoCutis. They offer free shipping over $75 and even better %115 price match guarantee!

As you might remember currently I have a
"I need & I want list". The list helps me out to see what is important and necessary to buy what is not. The only item I didnt buy on my need list is jeans because I've finally figured out the way to get rid of the stubborn stain on my jean. Therefore I don't need it anymore. What about want list? I had only one item on my list which is Digital Picture Frame. I bought my frame from Macy's!!! Believe it or not it was the last one. Including tax I paid $75.. I know it is kind of expensive but I thought after 5 months suffering, I can spend $75 for something on my "List". I already loved it! I put 500 pictures in it and put in slide show mode so that I can see all the people I really love and to bring good memories back.

Instead of listing my weekly goals, I decided to write down my goals monthly. Generally I like being original however, when it comes to pf blogging there is so much to learn from others..What works, what doesn't...I've been reading Krystal's blog long time and I like her monthly goals format so I guess from now on I will use the same format.
- Start eating very healthy EVERY meal. Sometimes I eat something healthy for lunch and not dinner and this has been happening alot lately. Around 4 pm I usually crave something sweet and I get chocolate from vending machine :( From now on my plan is to bring strawberries, blueberries, yogurt and gronola for snack.
- Lose 7lb. My current weight is 122lb. My ideal weight is 110-105. In order to have nice abs I have to get rid of those extra pounds. For June my goal is 115lb.
- On June 5th Run my second 5K!
- Start playing tennis again. I've been playing tennis more than 15 years. Unfortunately since I came to the States, I have not had any chance to play seriously. So I'll focus on that. Of course money factor will play role here.
- Fire up for CPA again! Study for Audit section and study problem areas in BEC section.
- Keep up the momentum for job search. I have a couple news for you about this matter.
- Make an extra $100
- Reduce debt to my sister for $100

This saturday my husband and I went to one of my good friend’s birthday party in Laguna Beach. You know what “Laguna Beach” means; it basically means spending a lot of money. We were invited dinner at
Mosun, Club M and later on clubbing at the same place. We decided to pass on dinner since we don’t want to spend $$ on food. We've realized that when we go to this kind of places the bill usually is being shared which never works out our advantage because we don’t eat a lot and we don’t drink much so generally we end up paying for other people’s extravagant meals and cocktails. Anyways, as I said we didn’t go to dinner this time but we went to the club afterwards. Since we were invited to this BD party we didn’t have to pay anything for admission. It was fun! Good crowd, good music! Our friend group was around 15 people and listen this; we were in VIP seating by the DJ! I guess my friend’s friends are super rich. All night long a waitress served our section so we drunk drunk and drunk more, paid nothing! Well this weekend was fun definitely fun and free, we’ll see rest our memorial weekend goes…

Wikipedia: Socks? A sock is a knitted or woven type of hosiery garment for enclosing the human foot. They are worn on the feet but why do I buy only white socks? Even though I love colors; hot pink, red, lime green…But why do I keep buying only white socks and no other? Few months ago I had all kind of colors of socks in my drawer and I realized that I always run out socks because I always miss one pair..I mean there were times I had to wear hot pink pair on right lemon yellow on left foot. How ridiculous is that? Anyways on the other hand my husband seems to have bunch of socks ready to put on whenever he wants and one day I noticed his little secret they are all the same color and brand. I know it because I am the one doing laundry :) After debating with myself how to solve my socks problem, I decided to follow my husband’s method. Now I buy 20 white socks from Walmart usually $7.00 whole pack of them and put on which ever I whenever I want. Sometimes I change them three times a day and still never run out socks, I have always a clean pair! Every two months I go back Walmart buy new pack for $7.00..This emethos works perfect for me, strongly recomended. My Problem solved!

I bet working in LAPD is so dangerous and those men and women need good quality gear to protect them all times.
LA Police Gear aims to fullfill that need. They have large collection of military and police gear. I've also heard they have those BDU pants be sure to check them out.

I want it now! I deserve it, am I not? No matter what!
Instant Gratification is like an addiction that stimulates our brain with instant reward. The reward is so appealing at the moment that most of us don’t think long lasting consequences of our actions. Today’s society is all about instant gratification. Advertisers spend their days and nights to convince us how we can live our dreams instantly without delay or sacrifice. I had and sometimes still have problem with self control. I know other pf bloggers who have this issue especially when it comes to money. We want to pay off our debt but then we want to see results immediately because we are craving for instant gratification. Unfortunately there is no easy way to get out of debt.. I always look for ways to grow. Let me tell ya, starting this blog and continuing help me to learn enjoy delayed gratification. How? I knew that the first I started this blog no one really read it because no one knew about it so I had to keep writing writing everyday just being consistent to reach the point where I was getting feedbacks from people and believe it was satisfying and it still is. I am still learning to be patient and consistent towards my goals. In this matter two philosophies I implement in my life helped me a lot.
I think surrounding yourself with “investors” (not in financial sense) instead of instant gratification types. The closest person to me is my husband and he is big time investor. We’ve been together for 5 years and learned from him a lot. However rest of my family is instant gratification type. :( I think that where I learned to be one too.
Go back to nature and appreciate how many million years took this world to be created for us. It didn’t happen instantly, right? And last focus on your ultimate dream, passion and it will become reality because as long as we take the right steps, finish line will be there for us to reach our goals.

Zero Spend day! It was not that difficult at all. I think I got used to the idea of not spending a penny and still be fine. The key factor was my lunch preparation. The day before I prepared spinach salad which by the way was delicious. Ingredients; spinach, corn, can tuna, blue cheese crumbles. As you can see in the pictures, I put everything in ziploc bags so when it is time to eat, everything is fresh, ready to be mixed. It takes me literally 5 min to prepare. I will come up with different salads like this one so I don't have to eat spinach every lunch.

*A bag of spinach $2.99-usually 5 serving. Cost per lunch:$0.6
*Can Corn $0.79-2 servings-cost per lunch: $0.40
*Blue Chese crumbles: $4.00-10 servings-cost per lunch: $0.40
*Can tuna $1.79-2 servings-cost per lunch:$0.90
Total Spinach-tuna salad costs me: $2.30 and on top of that it is super HEALTHY!

While I was reading my favorite PF blogs, I came across
Stacking Pennies’ “where is my money going?” post. I’d like the idea and decided to create one for better picture to see how my paycheck is being allocated every month.
As you can see, 54% of my income goes towards my debt, 4% savings, 12% retirement and only with 30% of my income I can leave without going nuts over every penny..Can you imagine once I become debt free how much more money I will have! This makes me really excited!

As you know I live in Orange County, CA. The reason the name was given Orange County because of zillions of orange trees. Whenever I hear news from Orange, Texas it makes me wonder if they got their name for the same reason. I will probably visit that city and find out from first hand. If I go there the one of places I certainly plan to go is
Stark Museum of Art. This museum supposedly houses one of the nation’s most significant collections of American Western art. They have wide variety of art collection, such as; western art, American Indian art, decorative art even rare books and manuscripts. When I visited their website I could not believe how much admission is, ready? It is FREE. Perfect for PF bloggers:)
Western Art: In the early nineteenth century explorer-artists such as George Catlin, Alfred Jacob Miller, John Mix Stanley and Paul Kane traveled across the continent. From their perspectives they recorded and documented American Indians in portraits and scenes of their customs.
Decorative Arts: The Decorative Arts collection features primarily glass and porcelain. It includes numerous items from Steuben Glass, including the only complete set of The United States in Crystal, a series of bowls engraved with scenes representing each of the 50 states as well as Puerto Rico and the Union.
The Rare Books and Manuscripts is my favorite. You will find The Birds of America and letters and journals by John James Audubon and even more rare items. The museum also provides a number of educational programs individuals, schools and researchers.
Along with opening this musuem, H.J. Lutcher Stark and his wife Nelda C. Stark established a non-profit organization for charitable and educational purposes. According to their website the mission of Stark Foundation is “ Improve the quality of life in Southeast Texas by encouraging, promoting and assisting education, the arts, and health and human services.”
They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 5pm (just like any other museum hours) and you can find complete direction on their website.

Life is not always easy..And you've been witnessing my journey since January'08. I just received my cpa exam result..I failed :( I got 65, passing grade is 75...You know I was expecting this but seeing the official result hurt my feelings...

Today I turned 29! My husband said it I'm at the edge of 30, I dont want to know what that means :) When I arrived to work this morning, my office was all decorated with baloons, presents and cards so I felt really special all day..I didnt do much work today b/c people came in to my office all day long and my phone never stopped ringing; I can not complain..:)
Until I'm 30, I have couple more things to accomplish in my life if I can, I will feel wonderful..How am I feeling now? Being 29 and looking back on my life, I think I've done darn good so far; except CC debt :) which is going down steadily every month. Right after I graduated university in my home country in 2002, I came to the States (without any support, my parents are not rich) and learned English ( I could not even say "My name is..."); in fact, I learned pretty much every little thing from scratch..Worked my ass off as a waitress to make ends meet, went to UCLA (without any monetary help)...So I think I've done very well for an immigrant in this country...My plans while approaching 30 are too long to list. However, my priority is to pass CPA exam, change my job and finally have a killer 6 pack abs ! ohh and also run half marathon..:)

Are you a blogger or a podcaster? If you are, now we have a convention to go! The new media expo is a popular convention for podcasters and bloggers.
4th Annual New Media Expo 2008 will be held in Las Vegas Convention Center in August 14-16. They claim that they will be different than any other events you’ve ever attended. So sounds like it is definitely worth while to check out, especially if you are going to be in LV in August 14-16.

Let me tell you, I never ever take my car to car wash place. There are several reasons behind it. First of all, I think I already spend too much greens on my car. Car payment, insurance, registration, gas...I am not going to add $20 cleaning expense on top of all the other car expenses. I also like being self sufficent. I dont think I need to pay average $20 to clean my car. Why do I have to pay for someelse's exercise? I mean washing car is a great exercise, dont you think?
There is a guy who comes to our workplace and washes my colleagues' cars for $25. What a waste! I can only understand paying for it if one doesn't have a place to wash their car. Some people also argue they save time by hiring other people to do their chores so that they can spend "quality" time with their family. I dont buy this excuse at all because you probably spend more time driving to car wash place, waiting in the line and watching illegal Mexican to exercise by using your car.
This morning when I woke up, I realized it was raining outside which is unusual for Socal at this time of year although I am happy because plants really needed this rain. Anyways, while I was driving I thought what a waste for people who took their car to car wash on Sunday. When I got work my colleague complained "darn it! It is raining I just took my car for car wash this sunday!" That moment my evil chicky side smiled inside me :)

Even though I received invitation from Social Spark last week, I signed up for the website only after reading dear pf blogger Always the planner’s post about
SocialSpark As she mentioned Social Spark has been created by same people who created PayPerPost. The big difference between PayPerPost and Social Spark is with Social Spark you can actually communicate with advertisers. If you think your blog suits certain opps perfectly then you can leave a message to advertiser so they can choose you for the opp. Another thing I liked about this website, you can reserve a space for an opp and if you get it, they send you an email letting you know that you have 12 hours to complete the opp you picked. On the other hand with PPP you have only 6 hours to complete. Their code of ethics includes but not limited to;
-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly
Their “Help” pages really helpful because first I found their concept little bit confusing however, as read more and more FAQs, it all made sense. It is basically social networking site for bloggers and advertisers. Once you have accepted an 'opportunity', you are required to post a HTML code to carry the "no-follow" attribute. This "no-follow" attribute is designed to protect bloggers and advertisers from search engine penalties based on paid linking. SocialSpark believes that every post should be 100% Search Engine Friendly. This is great because as you know google kind of penalize PayPerPost bloggers by lowering their page ranks.
More Snowflakes on the way! I hope you don’t mind occasional sponsored posts.. Here is my socialspark profile chek it out

Last friday finally we got our stimulus check for $1,200! Sooo here is how I will be spending greeny green $1,200.
First I've done my part for the economy; I bought 2 Denver-Los angeles Soutwest tickets for hubby and I. We will be traveling Colorado Springs in July to see how life is out there. We will stay for four days and explore the area whole time. Suprisingly, we got the tickets super cheap; one way $69, can you believe it? Total round trip tickets for two costed me $358. I still have $842 after paying my dues for the US economy. Also I sold an item on ebay for $182 which ended today. I guess now I can officially declare that CC#3 is gone!! Yay!
Here is my current lovely debt:
CC#1: Paid Off
CC#2: Paid Off
CC#3: Paid Off
CC#4:$2,000 interest %0
CC#5:$4,076 interest %0
Loan: $13,970 interest %12
Total: $20,046
I still owe $300 my sister and IRS $5,000
I am so happy finally CC#3 is gone..Now I can focus on CC#4 which is $2,000. This is one is going to take awhile because I need to start making payment for IRS and also I need to pay for CPA exam prep course during month of June. Well, I just need to be patient and not give up...

Job
Stop Whining Chicky, Start Looking for a JOB! I have so many reasons why I should leave my current company. Here is the summary;
* I am underpaid: Even though this is my first accounting job after I graduated from school, most entry level accountants make more money in Orange County. I make $40K, most people make $50-55...
* I must work under CPA. Even if I pass CPA exam at this point I can not obtain my license unless I work under CPA for a year and none of managers are CPA.
* There is no room to grow. This company is small! Around 200 people, only 5 people in accounting department..And my aim is not to replace CFO, get it?
*The company does not reimburse education expenses. Most companies pay for exam fees etc. You know how difficult I made those exam fees... :(
*Easy! I don't find my job challenging, therefore it is boring..
For now those are the main reasons came to my mind why I should leave this company and find a new place to grow and learn...

Since I am at work right at this moment, I can only write a quick post..First of all, yesterday when I visited ATM, I noticed that my mom(she lives in Europe) deposited $400 on my checking account for my birthday! Sweet! ( my bd is on may 13th) $400 will go directly towards CC#4 which will bring down the balance $2,102.
Another good news is interest rate for my car loan is 4.75% fixed !!!! Previously it was 6.75% fixed and under my husband's name. We decided to put the title and the loan under my name which lowered our interest rate for 2 points. Yay!

Yesterday I received email from PayPerPost customer service. I thought the email reflects PPP's business practice very well so I decided to share with you.
"Dear Postie –
A few weeks ago, between 4/14/08 - 5/5/08, you were approved for an opportunity ID# 23361, Tittle '3gb community'. It has since come to our attention that the advertiser used credit cards that were unauthorized to fund this opportunity. The advertiser has been non-responsive in our efforts to contact them.
You are very important to us and you took this opportunity in good faith so we will pay the opportunity fee from our own funds even though we have been unable to collect from this advertiser. You will receive payment at the regularly scheduled time for this opportunity.
Due to these circumstances, we are asking you to remove your post for this advertiser our blog. To find the post in PPP, under My Account Settings, go to My Posts then click the Date Submitted column. Go to your posts around the dates mentioned above and delete the post associated with the opp ID and tittle stated above.
If you have any questions, please contact Customer Love by submitting a ticket via http://support.izea.com"
Two things I liked about this email;
First of all, they will PAY me for this opp; secondly they are letting me know about this situation so that I can remove it from my blog which I appreciate. I like this kind of business practice, good job PPP!

A couple months ago when I revised my
2008 goals, I told you that I was going to pick a charity and donate $10.00 every month. This month I picked
German Shepperd Rescue of Orange County as my deserving charity. I have a very good friend who volunteers for this charity and I've heard so many good things about them. When I was a little girl, my parents had a German Shepperd. He was lovely, sweet dog..One day he ate something while my parent took him a walk and he got poisened, next say he died...Even though I was only 4 that time, I was really upset still I am...
Also if you live in Orange County, you can register your Ralphs Club Card with German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, and you can help orphans every time you buy groceries at Ralphs! There is no cost to you, and the dogs will benefit, so
please sign up today. It's simple. Just send your name, address, phone number, and your Ralphs Club Card number (which is on the back of your card) to GSROC Program Administrator at
mailto:chowski681@yahoo.com?Subject=GSROC. Next time you use your Ralphs Club card, Ralphs will automatically donate 4% of your purchase to German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County! With our help, this can be a fantastic fundraiser for needy dogs! I've just done it. What are you waiting for?
This is my favorite, updating Debt-O-Meter! I am still expecting $1,200 stimulus check so I should be updating the numbers soon again. Although I update debt-o-meter every pay period, last time when I listed

The last time picture was like this;
CC#1: Paid off

CC#3: $850 interest %13
CC#4:$3,614 interest %0
CC#5:$4,177 interest %0
Loan: $14,625 interest %12
Sister: $400
Now updated one as of May 2008;

Total CC: $21,346 since I started blogging I've paid total of $4,624. My plan is to pay off CC#3 and partially CC#4 with $1,200 stimulus check.

Just like many PF bloggers I am also part of snowflake revolution. I am supposed to put whatever money I get from snowflake efforts to towards debt. The problem is I don’t know exactly how much money I am making through snowflake and putting towards CCs. After thinking about it what to do I decided to use my Citi e-saving account only for snowflakes and keep it there until end of the year and theeeen put it towards CCs. That way I will be able to keep track how much exactly I am making on snowflakes.
So every penny coming through outside of FT job goes to Citi accounts. These are including;
1-PayPerPost! I love this one; it is great way to make extra money as long as you are careful what you are writing about.
2-Donations-Thanks a bunch for all the donations!
3-Surveys-Surveys are boring; fortunately I get only once every two weeks or so. I use Pine Cone Research; they pay via PayPal so it works out ok.
4-Referrals
5-Book sales on half.com, amazon.com and cash4books.net –In fact I’ve just sold a book on half.com for $15, I need to mail it tomorrow.
6-Ebay sales-Last week I sold an item for $20
7-Recycling-Every two weeks I get $16 for doing this. That’s basically bringing out diet coke cans and water bottles to recycling center nearby my work.
8-Change jar-Any dime, quarter, and penny goes in there.
So far I have $85 in the jar and it is growing every day!

Yesterday after work I went to a mall where I have not been for a long time..Ok not that long I meant to say FOUR months. I went there to accomplish one thing in my mind which is to buy white shirt from Express and lingerie from VS. Because my birthday is during May both Express and VS sent me a coupon for $15 and $10 so I thought this is a perfect time to take care of some "
needs" stuff.
I got my white shirt from Express for $26 after $15 coupon and lingeri from VS for $64 by using $10 coupon.
Total damage:$90.00 As soon as I finished shopping for "needs" items, I ran to my car, locked my car doors and drove away to safety where no one can take anymore greens out of my pocket(chicky purse better)!Needs List Update*Sexy Lingerie-
check I go lingerie shopping once a year and it covers me for whole 365 days. The only problem is I used to buy all my lingerie from Victoria'a Secret, now I dont know what to do..Perhaps Target?
I ended up going VS again but this time with my $10 coupon*White shirt-
check I need this desperately needless to say it is only for work.
